Rajiv Chanchani Online
A special course culminating in Hanuman Jayanti in April 2021
Hanuman is often referred to as “The Yogi Par Excellence” and BKS Iyengar had a particular devotion to Hanuman (visitors to RIMYI will have seen the murti on the roof). Rajiv will explore, through illustrations and chants and with help from Mr Santosh Gokale, the particular relevance that Hanuman has for yoga practitioners. We will look particularly at the chapter in the Ramayana that celebrates the many achievements and powers of Lord Hanuman.
A 90 minute asana/pranayama class will be followed by a lecture/discussion/chanting.
Classes will be held on all Sundays in April, and the final class will be on Tuesday 27th April, which is Hanuman Jayanti. All classes start at 8.00am UK - British Summer Time.

Rajiv Chanchani is a long-time student of B.K.S. Iyengar, and founder (with his wife Swati) of the Yog-Ganga Centre in northern India. Rajiv has been leading weekly classes of asana, pranayama, and yogic philosophy online since April 2020. Steeped in the rich culture that accompanies yoga techniques, Rajiv shares his deep understanding both of the physical postures and of the history and ethical implications of the practice of yoga. Many of Rajiv’s long term students were booked to travel to Rajpur for a special course entitled “The Breath of Hanuman”. With the onset of the pandemic this course was cancelled and now, a year later, we are delighted that some of the material that would have been covered then will be available online over Zoom.
