Zoë Reason

Started yoga in her twenties. Her aunt is a yoga teacher. She loved practising but was easily distracted. And when she finally went on her first yoga holiday (about 10 years after she’d been to her first class) she finally understood that discipline and regularity is important.

She trained to teach in the UK and qualified in 2004.

Since 2002 she has studied extensively with Rajiv & Swati Chanchani (who are the first generation of yoga teachers trained by BKS Iyengar) at their centre in the foothills of the Himalyas.

She has taught busy and thriving classes in Lewes and London and recently moved to Knowle and is looking forward to building a yoga community in BS4.

Her teaching is progessive, methodical and integrated. She’s interested in exploring how our bodies will allow us to become more connected with the reality of our own aliveness. Her teaching is warm, compassionate and accessible.

Her classes are challenging without being competitive.

Partly because going away “on holiday” to practice yoga was such an important part of her own learning she is particularly drawn to this way of working. She has taught at least one week a year on the magical island of Paxos in Greece.
